This was my first purchase of GPS. Without knowing the details of the features, this seemed ideal. I wanted one that had a voice giving instructions. The description indicated that it had that feature. Unfortunately, all it says is turn right or left. This was especially bad when I took a highway exit ramp, the Tom Tom said turn right, but the freeway exit ramp was 2 directions, West and East. If it had gone well, would have been the wrong direction. I only used this device for a day, and returned it. If you are looking for a device that tells you the street name, the "need Text To Speech function. The most expensive units have this feature and "Appointment Lane", which lets you know which lane to take a ramp (East or West, etc)

Contrary to the product documentation, this product can not be paired with a BT phone for traffic updates. If you need information on traffic, buy something else! The online documentation says it is paired with a BT phone, but it is not. In response to my question why I have the icon, simply declared that the support does not have Bluetooth. If it loses the satellite signal, you can take an hour to reacquire the position unless it stops. Do not rely on it to generate both the fastest route or shortest for a long journey. It will generate a route that works, but that's all. Bias may toll or toll-free for the entire route, but that's all. Recommendation: Do not buy anything unless TomTom has seen all the features you are interested in showing the unity that is buying. DO NOT rely on your documentation, either on the packaging or online to correctly what will drive.

This product may be big in the U.S. inland, but their support for Puerto Rico is poor at best. I just moved to Puerto Rico and wanted to leave home with less hassle. I bought one of these at a Best Buy here. I thought that if they sell it here, that insurance should work well here, right? FALSE! OK. You can find your location. . . Any GPS can do that. But it supports only a handful of big cities and did not even know all the roads. And worse. . . Worst of all: his support IP database for the island is very very weak. When I search for restaurants nearby, the nearest shows are hundreds of miles away. . . Florida! Although there are great franchises present in PR, you can not find in the search. I almost Google-Map of destinations, then prey can find the exact address in the TOM TOM. If not, I have to look at the map TOM TOM to find a nearby street and then guess the location on the map. Of course, you can edit the map and share information with everyone. But anyway, I'm not on the payroll of TOM TOM's. My life is busy enough that made me consider the GPS in the first place. Now I do not want to spend an hour each time the need to find a place and update the map and everything.

Got a brand new on Amazon. All I got was "waiting for a valid GPS signal", but could never find it. He wrote an email to the manufacturer, but never responded. Tried resetting and running with this garbage out, still no luck. Sending it back and I hope the company learns how to produce a decent product and the response to the request for customer service. My compass in 6th grade was a better navigation tool.

The item comes with virtually no instruction in addition to offering no aid itself. I have another factory unit which is very handy and easy to use. I thought we finally learn how to operate this, but their functions are so numerous that a person can not duplicate an action. It is practically useless and only serves as a source of frustration. I would be ashamed even to give away.
