I bought a Garmin Forerunner 305 two months ago, and although I liked the idea of having GPS and HRM and tracking data, my experience with Garmin and this particular product has not been good. The first time I have, I followed the instructions, I plugged in and left my first trip with him. When I got home and plugged it into my computer USB bus, the computer froze and required a reboot to reboot. Once the team came back, the USB bus does not work. I realized that the problem was probably draw too much current on the USB bus and is going to need to get a new motherboard (damn disappointing, but is a computer and electronics person, I went to buy the new motherboard and a USB hub and external power some 12 hours later I was up and running again. So, this time I connected the Garmin Forerunner 305 in the powered USB hub instead of the computer. As soon as I did this, my controlled blue team (fall) and did almost every time you connect the in Garmin At this point, I decided it must have been a problem with the Garmin Forerunner and got on their support system. This is where the real problems happened. His support person told me: 1. Check for chipset names that are Intel, NEC, etc. These are compatible chipsets with our devices. 2. If you have a chipset name that contains SiS, Via, OpenHCD Ali or ALR, these chipsets are not compatible with our devices and can not allow the USB Card Programmer to function. That was not in the package, or instructions, but regardless I learned that there was a chip set compatible from the manufacturer. So after letting them know that and is now expected some compensation for my loss and that something definitely caused my mother's USB bus to go bad I asked to send the unit, cable, charger, etc back to them to determine what might have caused the problem, which I did. After a week or so I asked if he had been determined about what had happened, but they had no answer. I told at this point I expected some compensation for my damaged motherboard – another unit maybe? Something. They offered to send me a new unit and a cadence unit (for my bike) but I said that already bought the $ 60 . 00 cadence unit and that does not work on my bike because of the structure / design of the pedal, and a new unit that helps because I really wanted to start using the new toy I bought. After getting the replacement unit, which did not cause any blue screens (after a week) and seems to be working as well as the rest of them, Garmin refused to compensate for my mother – I offered to accept the unit I sent in back as payment – the answer Garmin: "Unfortunately, it seems as if we are unable to determine why the error occurred, given the information provided. Thus, we question whether the Forerunner 305 had nothing to do with the failure on your PC. The device always meet all specification standards. I apologize we could not give a conclusive answer.. "Unfortunately, I had already sent back to the bad Garmin Forerunner 305 with the dump files from my PC and offered to sent to the mother several times and – who were not interested in what brand / make / model of motherboard I had – so it was no longer able to determine if there was a component in the charging circuit of the Garmin and was out of luck. And it has been my experience with Garmin. Great idea, but a bad company. There are a lot of problems with Garmin products, unlike many other computer manufacturers like Canon and Apple, which do not address problems in an equitable manner. Be warned!

Garmin Forerunner 305 Wrist-Mounted GPS Fitness Computer with Heart Rate Monitor Amazon sending process is very poor. After waiting the necessary for the delivery of 8 days and did not show up, they asked me to wait another 3 days before they could perhaps send another item with 1 day free shipping. The dispatch system shows amazon still waiting for USPS to pick up. This is what he said just after 8 days ago that he ordered the Garmin 305. I have been on hold for a long time waiting to speak with a manager. I think they're expecting me to hang up! VERY POOR SERVICE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! Never order from Amazon again. Indeed, the product is $ 30 more. I think they are sending to all others who are paying more for the item.

The mere fact that Garmin now offers support for Mac * is enough to earn five stars. I'm going back to my Magellan eXplorist 400 useless soon. I could never get it to work at all with my PowerBook. Way to go Garmin! I will post a full review once I receive my Garmin Forerunner 305 and have tested. * Http: / / www. Garmin. com/pressroom/corporate/011006. html

I really do not understand the bad reviews, this is a watch size GPS outperform units ten times its size. It is a thousand times better than ANY pedometer there. It is not necessary to calibrate, as the Polar units that do not offer much more data and cost about the same extent. and has a built in heart rate monitor that works very well. If you want perfection you can wait forever. If you want the best now get a 305. . . .
